Can't connect to Windows Live Messenger, hangs on sleep and auto-restart on shutdown Windows 7 Professional

I am using Windows 7 professional.
When i want to connect to Windows Live Messenger, I can't connect.
It says error code 81000306.

I can browse the net alright.

Moreover, when i shut down my computer, it restarts after a few seconds.
When i put the computer on sleep mode, the desktop fan runs at full speed but no signal is sent to the monitor nor can i do anything with the keyboard and mouse.
