Change default action for download by extension

Somehow I've farbled up the actions that take place when clicking on a
file to download in Internet Explorer 8. Example: .ZIP files used to
download, now they open instead. I accidentally unchecked the box
regarding the default action once, and can't find where to change it
back. There are a couple of other extensions that are in the same
situation.
I'm told that memory is the second thing that goes bad with age, but I
can't remember what the first one is....

I
also have some other extensions that have taken it upon themselves to
download and open, rather than prompting me to save them.
Do the other file types have a value in that registry key?

You might try the other option, Internet Options> Security> Reset all zones to default level.
You may have to check with Stardock on the .wba files.

Don't Download Malware

Where are you getting the download?

There are malicious people who download valid copies of a popular download, modify the file with malicious software, and then upload the file with the same name. Make sure you are downloading from the developer's web page or a reputable company.
