My auto play does not work.

the Autoplay box is ticked in Control Panel, and all selections in Auto Play have been made.

I have run "net start shellhwdetection" from the command prompt, and I get the message "The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it" how do I reslove this?

I have also tried to find "no drivetypeautorun" in the registry, but cannot find it in any of the registry strings.
It just does not seem to exist in my Registry.

Is there any other way to get this Auto play working ?

Method 2:
I would suggest going into Windows Services directly to verify that
Shell Hardware Detection service is listed then do the following again:

a.    Click on Start-Run, type services.msc, the click on
OK.
b.    When the Services window loads, navigate to the "Shell Hardware Detection service” the double click on it to open it,
c.    Make sure the "Startup Type" says "Automatic" and
started.
If it doesn't, use the drop down menu to change it.
d.    If it already says: "Automatic", then click on the "Recovery" tab at the top, and change the "First Failure" line to "Restart the Service", then click on "apply", then
OK.

Boot in Safe Mode:

Open Run command as previously described
Type MSConfig
Click on Boot tab
Tick Safe boot in Boot option
Select Network
Click Apply and OK
Reboot your system

Your system will boot in Safe mode with Networking. You may now try and open Windows Store and should not see any errors.
